The 600 Fairbanks Building

600 North Fairbanks is a gleaming 41-story, 458-foot condominium tower that presides over the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago. Orchestrated by Schatz Development and designed by world-acclaimed “starchitect” Helmut Jahn, the building cantilevers above the three-story Schatz Building to the north and is wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glass fabricated by Permasteelisa. The stunning and magnificent edifice offers luxurious living spaces to 212 residents, including Snaidero cabinetry and stainless steel appliances by Wolf and Miele, and features a fully modern aesthetic with exposed concrete interiors and inset balconies that run flush with the curtainwall. The units have soaring 10-12 foot ceilings, and the amenities include an indoor pool, rooftop sundeck, fitness center, dog run, spacious interior lobby, and deeded parking.

Groundbreaking occurred in March 2006, and Bovis Lend Lease served as general contractor. Unit deliveries began in October 2007, and substantial completion was achieved in April 2008. The total hard cost of construction was approximately $81 million. The project was completed on time and on budget.
